How to Choose a Personal Assistant
Salary Guidelines


All positions assume candidate has the following:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Legal authority to work in the United States
  • Valid driver's license
  • Automobile & automobile insurance

    Compensation refers to the weekly gross salary based on a 40-hour work week

Salaries refer to Los Angeles based positions. (Cost of living adjustment should be calculated based upon alternate locations)

Runner

Compensation
$350 - $500 (to start)
$400 - $700 (potential)
Generally an hourly employee, paid for hours worked
Supervision
Needs supervision & direction
Qualifications
Some high school
No special training
Duties

Entry Level Personal Assistant

Compensation
$500 - $600 (to start)
$700 - $1000 (potential)
May be an hourly employee
May have some benefits
Supervision
Can maintain certain routines without supervision
Could be a 2nd or 3rd assistant

Generally a salaried employee with benefits

Hires, trains and reviews staff
More involved in business; review contracts; able to make related decisions
Full responsibility for home and/or office
Ensure complete protection and privacy
Coordinate scheduling
Payroll Accounts payable and receivable Insurance and inventories
Manage resources
Research and recommendations
VIP treatment of people
Crisis solver
More business involvement - may be an executive or partner
Set up and maintenance of office(s) and/or home(s)
